Meet Sphinx Chat, a much needed innovation
Sphinx is an early-stage, potentially disruptive application that enables users to chat and pay over the Lightening Network (Scalable, Instant Bitcoin/Blockchain Transactions). Simply, it is a text application built upon a payment protocol. Sphinx seems to solve 3 problems:
1) Directly connects creators and consumers with a peer-peer micropayment system (no third parties)
2) Improves the quality of group chats by reducing spam (incentives, not censorship)
3) Creates a decentralized communication platform (no gatekeepers)
Users can join “Tribes” (chat groups) or host a dedicated node to create their own and contribute to the network. Once in a tribe you can easily send multimedia messages and Satoshis as anonymously as you would like. It sounds simple, but the implications may be groundbreaking!
Sphinx is very early in development, but they already released a very solid MVP to the public. It is still in the early adopter phase, so for those with an adventurous spirit you should join the Sphinx community today and help build the network. For $2 one can buy a permanent “lite node” in the network, enabling users to join Tribes. For a monthly payment you receive a dedicated node, enabling users to create tribes and host podcasts. Node availability is extremely limited, but the project is gaining good momentum.
